We're canceling March's
SUNDAY Services at Marshall
starting MARCH 15
AND MOVING TO HOME CHURCHES

Dear Epicentre Family,

In this season of rapidly changing news, we want to provide regular updates to all of you. Last week we released our first pastoral guidance for the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, and you can revisit our response HERE.

PRAY
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7)

The constant flooding of news on COVID-19 and ever changing nature of the situation and governmental responses can lead to much stress and anxiety. But the Scriptures and our personal experiences assure us that God is the same and He is our firm foundation. The Apostle Paul exhorts us to rejoice, to not be anxious and to pray with thanksgiving in every situation, and that’s what we want to continue to do as believers at such a time as this. So:

  • Rejoice in who He is and give thanks for the way He has cared for you faithfully
  • Give your cares and concerns over to Him one by one (1 Peter 5:7; Matthew 11:28-30)
  • Pray:
    • For the Father’s love to cast out all fears in us and in people around us
    • For wisdom from above for medical personnel and government officials as they work on round-the-clock responses; and for our staff and other church leaders to know how to shepherd our people during this time
    • For our people to rise up and be voices of hope and comfort to people around us

BE WISE
Our leadership team has been in prayer and discussion this past week in response to the COVID-19 situation and we wanted to update you about an important decision we’ve made about Sunday Services.

As a team, we are seeking what the Lord is saying, as well as listening to what our government is advising. The State of California has advised that gatherings greater than 250 be canceled. In order to honor our civil authorities, as the Bible teaches us, and being prudent, our leadership team decided that we will cancel our Sunday services at Marshall Fundamental School starting this Sunday, March 15 and at least through the end of the month. We will re-evaluate the situation weekly and resume corporate gatherings when the time is right.

In place of gathering together this Sunday, we will stream our Service here on our website homepage at 11:00 AM.

Starting Sunday, March 22 we will launch and congregate in “Home Churches” all across our region. We will share more details about this new shift and our church's next steps of faith on this Sunday's webstream.

Share the Good News of Hope
Throughout human history, the problems of our world have always become opportunities for the Church to rise up, and this current situation is no exception!

We believe God has given us an invitation and also a call to be the light and hope the world needs at this hour. Watch our 11:00 AM Webstream this Sunday to hear more details about how the Lord is leading us in this new season. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns though, please don't hesitate to email us at communications@epicentrechurch.org.

Just as He led us from Mott Auditorium to Marshall, we believe that the Lord is ushering us into a fresh new season that is bringing us even closer into the fullness of what He has for us as His Bride, the Church.

May we all be united and filled with God’s amazing hope for our city, nation and the nations of the earth!

Praying for and with you,
Pastors Janet and Fiona
