Philippians 4:10-13 (hyperlink)
Devotional:
Throughout his life and imprisonment, Paul has experienced seasons of plenty and of want. As he writes from prison, he shares with the church of Philippi that he has learned how to be content in any and every situation. Could you imagine experiencing contentment regardless of your situation? Philippians 4:13 is a well-known verse that says "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." It’s Christ who gives us strength to overcome anything that comes our way and thus experience contentment in any and every way.

Questions:
  • What stands out to you from the text?
  • Do you feel content in your current circumstances? Why or why not?
  • How can you invite God to give you strength today to experience deeper contentment?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you that you give me strength to experience contentment in any and every way. Whether I am in need or have plenty, I can lean on you to strengthen me. Help me Holy Spirit to experience contentment in ___(pray through your current circumstances__).
