Prayer Ministry & MOre

Dear Epicentre Family,

A week ago, our governor issued the “Stay-At-Home” order. Some of us have been able to adjust quickly and settle into a routine, while some are still figuring things out, especially our families with young children. As David reminds us in Psalm 23, the Lord is our Shepherd - the Good Shepherd. He not only guides and leads us during this time, but He knows what we need and when we need them. He is by our sides always. He is asking us to do is to stay close to Him and to trust Him, for His rod and staff will bring us the comfort and assurance we need.

Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” These words remind us of what he wrote in Philippians 4:4-7. When faced with challenging situations, Paul seems to say 3 things are important:
1) rejoice/be joyful; 2) pray; 3) give thanks. So let’s do that!
  • Rejoice with singing and dancing! Take time to worship to this song
  • Pray for:
    • Wisdom and understanding for government officials & medical experts as they continue to navigate the health crisis as well as the impact of the situation on people’s livelihood.
    • Protection over healthcare workers who are on the frontline dealing with COVID-19, and those who are caring for patients with other illnesses so they are not neglected during this time.
    • Discernment and grace on mental health professionals as they walk with people who are really impacted emotionally and mentally by the current situation.
    • Patience and heavenly peace to be released over marriages and families.
    • Strength, wisdom and grace over our staff as we continue to navigate how to love, lead and support our church family during this time.
  • Give thanks! Take a moment to remember this past week. What do you want to give thanks for?

We want to continue to encourage you to join us for our HOUR OF POWER (Virtual Prayer Room) as we pray and intercede for our church family, those affected by COVID-19, and more from 12-1 PM Monday through Friday.

We are also offering online PRAYER MINISTRY appointments for anyone who would like to receive prayer. These are 10-minute only appointments for a prayer minister to pray with and for you virtually. Sign up and learn more about Epicentre Prayer at

Pastor Josh encouraged us last week to develop a new daily rhythm that helps us stay connected to Jesus. Since our regular routine has been interrupted by the current situation, this is a great time to develop some new spiritual habits, strengthen spiritual muscles, and deepen our intimacy with the Lord. If you have not tried this new rhythm yet, we encourage you to start now!

Morning Prayer
Midday Connection
  • Be still and ask God to help you be aware of his presence around you.
  • Say a prayer phrase to quiet your heart.
    • I love you, Lord.
    • You are my rock and my foundation.
  • Listen for His words of life to you and pray.

Evening Reflection
  • What are you thankful for today?
  • What made you sad or what was difficult for you today?
  • Release any burdens and worries to Jesus.
  • Invite God’s presence to settle your spirit as you rest tonight.
You can download a lock screen wallpaper or a card to print out with this rhythm HERE.

We also encourage you to get plugged into a smaller church community if you are not part of a lifegroup. We are launching Home Church groups this Sunday. Go to HOME CHURCH to get more info about Home Church and to join one.

Crisis is where Christ is. So how have you encountered God during this crisis?  What scriptures have brought comfort and hope to you at this time? Since many people are on social media now, how about you post a testimony or scriptures at different times during this week as a way to release hope and light into the atmosphere and into your community? Share your stories with us by using the hashtag #epiclife!

Again, continue to reach out to people in your spheres of influence - encourage, pray and offer to help them where appropriate. This is a time our light should shine the brightest!
We are praying for you, and we love you!
