JOin us in Prayer,
Home Church, and More

Dear Epicentre Family,

What a week it has been!  Not many of us have ever experienced school closures, canceled church gatherings, events, crowded grocery stores, and empty shelves….As Pastor Josh said in his Sunday message, “We have never been this way before.”  In times like this, it is really important we lean into one another.  Please know that our staff is here for you and many in our church family are ready to help and support you, so do not hesitate to reach out if you need help!

We had not planned to launch Home Church Live until this coming week, but God’s strong hand and the hard work of our production team came through for all of us. Home Church Live will happen at 10 am every Sunday, as we worship together in virtual communities, together as a large family, all across the region

The prayers of the saints have a special place in God’s heart as we read in Rev. 5 that they are held before the Lamb in heaven! Let’s continue to be people of prayer in this hour.

This week, let’s remember some specific groups of people:
  • Pray Psalm 91 over healthcare professionals, especially those in our church. Pray that God will give them strength and joy as they battle this crisis on the frontlines. Pray for their families as they navigate how to be family safely but without fear during this time.
  • Pray for families with school-age children as they figure out a new family routine and what to do with their kids at home. Pray that this extra time of being together will actually foster deeper connections between family members.
  • Pray for folks who are among the at-risk population (age over 65 and those with weakened immune systems) that they will not fear and will feel the presence and protection of the Lord. Pray for a shield of protection over them.
  • Pray for folks who are affected financially as a result of the current crisis, that God will provide for their needs in unexpected ways and they will have peace that is beyond understanding.

We continue to encourage everyone to practice compassionate distancing. If you have questions about COVID-19 (symptoms, how the disease spreads), please check out the CDC’s website. If you think you might have COVID-19, you can interact with a medical adviser here to determine if you need to take further action.

Also, though it is important to keep informed on the current situation and development, we suggest you limit how much you read and how often you check news and social media. Information overload does not help our spirits and clouds us from seeing clearly through heaven’s perspective. Instead, we encourage you to get into the Word more and to lean more into the church family.

We know that about 40% of you are not in a Lifegroup right now, and we’d love to connect you with others to form a group to be the church for one another on Sundays. We believe, especially in these times of compassionate distancing, that Jesus’ words of “where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20) is the way of human flourishing. So we want to encourage you to join a Home Church in your region, some are launching as soon as next Sunday. To sign up, go HERE. Learn more about Home Church HERE.

This week, we built the infrastructure for Lifegroups to meet virtually and this will be the foundation our Home Church groups will be supported. For those who are not in a Lifegroup, we will have a number of regional “Pastoral Connects” from 11:30 am and 12 noon THIS SUNDAY. Links to these groups will be available on Sunday morning at You can prepare for this by downloading the free Zoom app to your device before Sunday morning.
Throughout human history, the problems of our world have always become opportunities for the Church to rise up, and this current situation is no exception!

Also, here are a few resources to help you navigate a new normal:
  • SOCIAL MEDIA: Our most up-to-day information is on our official social media. Make sure to follow!
  • HOUR OF POWER PRAYER ROOM: We believe that prayer is powerful, and corporate prayer is even more so. Join in with others each noon hour, from 12 to 1 pm, in our virtual prayer room as we partner with God to change lives and situations through prayer. Download the free Zoom App and use THIS LINK to access the Prayer Room.
  • FACEBOOK GROUP: Our EPIC Facebook group allows us to post prayer requests, share practical needs, and respond to other’s needs. If you have not joined, request to join here. Once one of our friendly admins approves you, you’ll be in the group.
  • NEW SPOTIFY PLAYLIST: Pastor Simeon created a new playlist called “Songs of Peace and Faith”. Let's permeate our homes (and home offices) with songs of peace and faith. Find it HERE.
  • PRAYER REQUESTS: If you have prayer requests, please let us know HERE.
  • HOME CHURCH LIVE: Every week’s Home Church Live will be posted on our Youtube Channel. Be sure to subscribe to see our latest resources!

As you settle into a new routine at home, let’s remember to look beyond the four walls of your home/family. Take some time to talk with your lifegroup or home church group (after it's launched) if you know anyone who may have needs or need support - these could be spiritual, emotional and physical needs. Look for ways you can be Jesus’ hands and feet for them. Do not hesitate to ask how your co-workers are doing and dealing with the crisis - share your hope and biblical perspective, and offer to pray for them.

In the coming weeks, we hope to be able to share some specific opportunities we have to help those in need in our cities. Stay tuned!

In closing,

We are praying for you, and we love you!

Pastors Janet & Fiona
