LOOKING BACK
Family Time (15 mins)
  • Vision: Invite someone in your Lifegroup to share what your Lifegroup’s vision means to them.

LOOKING UP
Worship (-15 mins)
Bible Study (30 mins)
If we want to see Biblical things happen, we need to live Biblically.
Matthew 6:19-24, NIV
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Discussion Questions:
  1. What stands out to you from this passage?

  4. Do you agree or disagree that our biggest competitor for your trust is our “stuff”? Why? Why not?
  5. Why are we as people so prone to trust money rather than God?
  6. What is the difference between healthy and unhealthy finances?

Looking Forward
In smaller groups, discuss the following:
  1. How do you store up treasure in heaven?
  2. How do you find yourself storing treasures on earth?
  3. How can giving be a guardrail to trusting God and to even grow our faith in Him?
  4. Do you feel like you can be a giver? What do you feel like God has enabled you to give this season? (Finances, time, energy, etc.)
  5. Do you feel called to give somewhere? To someone? What do you feel called to give?
