Bible Study (30 mins)— Acts 2:1-47
If we want to see Biblical things happen, we need to live Biblically. This week we’ll dive into Matthew 4.

Matthew 4:18-22, NIV
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Discussion Questions:
  1. What stands out to you from this passage?
  2. Why do you think it was so easy for Peter, Andrew, James and John to leave their nets and follow Jesus?
  3. What does Jesus tell them that they will become?  Why do you think he might have used this imagery?
  4. Reflect on or discuss what it means that God operates in ordinary, everyday moments?  Can we miss God in the “ordinary?”  Do you look for God in your day?
  5. Reflect on or discuss what it means for God to use “ordinary” people?  Can God use you? Are you available to be used?

Looking Forward
In smaller groups, discuss the following:
  1. How many times, big or small, have we heard Jesus directing us to follow his lead?
  2. How do we respond to his call? Do we delay?  Do we question?  Do we ask others?
  3. Where are you in discipleship during this season? If you aren’t already, where can you jump into discipleship?
  4. Pray. Are there one or two names that the Lord is highlighting to you?. Invite those people to get into discipleship with you.
