Easter Brunch Core Lesson 4:
CHecking In & Filling the prayer bowls!

Since this is our last Easter-focused lesson, you can spend time on final preparations and pray over each other as you get ready for your brunch.

LOOKING BACK
Family Time (5 mins)
  • Vision: Have someone to share the vision for Easter brunches (recap at epicentre.org/easter).
  • Announcements: Please go to epicentre.org/events to see upcoming events.

Worship (~15 mins)
Choose a few songs of worship, or do a worship activity centering yourself on God's holiness and presence.

EASTER BRUNCH FINAL PRAYER AND PLANNING (30-40 minutes)
1. Listen & Pray: We want to seek God first before jumping into planning. Gather in small groups of 3-4 and pray together. (10 minutes)
  • Be real and tell God how you’re feeling about Easter honestly (anxious, excited, neutral, etc.).
  • Spend time listening to see what words He wants to speak in response.
  • Regather, and have different people share any significant words they sensed as a group.

  1. Team Planning & Updates (20-30 min)
In the big picture, the hope for Easter brunches is that we love our guests well and point them to Jesus. If any plans need to be simplified or let go, that is totally okay!
  • Have teams gather and see what else they need to work on or pray for. You can refer to these checklists to help prepare. Assign tasks to specific people so everything is covered.
  • Regather as a large group, and have each group share what their plans are. Make space for others to ask question and follow up.

  1. Prayer For Guests & Each Other (15-20 min)
In Revelation 5:8, it mentions "gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God’s people." God hears our prayers! As we've talked about on Sundays, these prayers accumulate and fill up. Right now, let's "Fill the bowls" for our Easter brunch guests (and others on our oikos maps) by name!

  • Prayer for Guests: Depending on your size, either as one group or in small groups, pray for people on your maps - short, couple sentence prayers that God would encounter these people. You can use the lightning prayers as a guide if it helps!
  • "Commissioning" each other: Just like when we send out short term teams, we can pray over each team that God would speak to each of us and empower us to do this together! Group by group, have each team sit in the middle and pray for each team, asking God to move and speak to them.
