To Live is Christ, to Die is Gain

Paul is confident that in his deliverance, whether from the hand of his enemies or for his salvation. Regardless of the outcomes, released from prison or death, Paul is confident that Christ will be exalted in his body. Paul is torn - he recognizes that dying means being with Jesus (gain) which is his preferred option but continuing to live, though it means continued long suffering, means fruitful labor for Christ. Ultimately for Paul, living is Christ, dying is gain.

Jesus, I’m really grateful for the ways You’ve invited me to live for
You in my life this week. I ask that as I journey with You, I would see
the fruit through Your being with me and leading me in all life brings
