Week 1, Day 1 Philipians 1:1-11

Philippians 1:1-11 [hyperlink]

Paul’s Prayer for the Church of Philippi

In the opening of Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi, he greets the Philippians with an expression of thankfulness for them. He expresses confidence that the life transforming work that God has begun in them will continue on to completion until the day of Christ. Paul also prays that their love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that they may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.

QUESTIONS
  • What are you thankful for today? (write them out if that’s helpful for you!)
  • What good work do you believe God has begun in your life?
  • How is God sustaining that good work in you through His love?

PRAYER
Lord, I thank you for the good work You have begun in me. I ask, Father, that You would continue that good work in me to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. May Your love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.
