In January, Harmonium's Prime Time staff took part in a training to learn about a Readers Theatre program to implement at their sites.  The program presented by Playbooks Readers Theatre provided a systematic & comprehensive approach to improving children's reading fluency through creative, dramatic play acting. It was an interactive training that taught our staff how to select short reading plays and how to place children in appropriate roles based on their reading proficiency. The materials provided by Playbooks Readers Theatre make participation easy and fun for the children and include forms for assessment and reading behavior testing and even performance award certificates.

Our staff got to play act themselves and it quickly showed that it was fun, not only for children, but for grownups as well!!

"Donate & Save at Strasburg Children" - August 6 - 8, 2010

With a donation of school supplies for children in Harmonium's expanding Infant/Toddler Child Care Centers, the Strasburg Children Store in the Carlsbad Premium Outlet Center will "thank you" with a dollar amount off your entire purchase. Over the weekend of August 6, 7, and 8th, receive $10 off with a donation of two school supplies, $15 off with a donation of three school supplies, and $20 off a donation of 4 items or more.
